A
mystery in New Mexico…Jake Marley and Hank Djumstrom like to gamble. In fact, Jake makes ends meet with his winnings. The two friends regularly host poker games in the back room of Smiley’s Old Saloon on the outskirts of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Jake is about to embark on a treasure hunting adventure. He’s just partnered with a man who has the GPS coordinates to where over sixteen million dollars in rare Double Eagle coins are buried. Despite the fact that these coins are deep inside the Navajo Reservation, Jake is convinced he has a fool-proof plan to get them. Almost immediately, Jake's perfect plan starts to unravel. He thinks someone tried to run him over, his apartment gets ransacked and he's positive he's being followed. Jake is also suspicious of Karen, the stunning blond who showed up at their latest poker game – only to drop out of the last hand with four aces! Jake has kept his get-rich-quick scheme quiet from his friend Hank -- who has had enough of Jake's adventures. Hank’s life is normally calmer than Jake’s. He has his art, a small farm and neighbor with a junkyard to occupy his time. But when Hank’s house is broken into and when his soon-to-be ex-wife DeDe is murdered, his life changes quickly. It looks like the two friends' lives are quickly spinning out of control. Jake’s easy money is getting tougher by the moment. |
